Most home buyers want to make all the decisions when building a dream home, although some others could benefit from having nearly all their decision made, then purchased for them. Could a “one stop shopping” experience be the new trend in home buying? Imagine saving time, reducing stress and still being able to close on the perfect dream home.

Recently Mariana Verga Lloyd, a Keller Williams Realtor, and Andrea Meister worked together on a project creating the perfect home buying experience for Don Culpepper an Engineer with Devon Energy. He was able to use a “one stop shopping” experience created by Mariana and Andrea. From the home builder, to the floor plan and every accessory—everything was taken care of for their second purchase of this type. For this client, that included all the accessories, all the furniture, all linens, all towels—everything inside of the home was a part of the process.

In the beginning, Mariana told Don about Andrea and how she is a very talented artist and designer especially when it comes to fabric and anything to be sewn. A meeting was set up and Don looked at her portfolio and he was thrilled to have Andrea as part of the team.

Don said that they contacted him during the first phase and he would meet them and check out the furniture. He was so secure with their designs he started allowing them to purchase everything without his approval. “I had seen Mariana’s personal home and I loved the look of it. Mariana has a great eye for it,” said Don.

“My background is Architecture and I have been a licensed Realtor since 1973, but I love to decorate homes,” said Mariana. “Don trusted us completely on our decisions” she said.

He had no worries. Mariana and Andrea purchased most of the furniture from Elks Alley, Hemispheres and Ballengers Furniture, blending antique pieces with new. “We designed around the house and kept the style, traditional,” said Andrea. Mariana chose most of the art work from Courtyard Antiques. Hemispheres is another favorite place to purchase furniture and accessories for Mariana and Andrea. Hobby Lobby came in handy for some of the very last minute purchases.

They added feminine and masculine touches to create the perfect home. “Some people can’t put colors and styles together. That is the part I love to do,” said Mariana. “They can’t see what it could be. I love to make it become a beautiful and comfortable home for them.”

The last day that Don saw his home was five days before the closing. It was a shell. There was nothing inside, including any draperies. Mariana and Andrea worked hard the last four days getting everything moved over to his home and moved in its new place.

“When I walked into my home on Friday night, the personal touches were a pleasant surprise to me. I completely saw their professionalism. My home was so comfortable, so relaxing and pleasing to look at,” Don explained. “I would not change anything about my experience. I have not changed anything in the house. I’ve had Andrea add some blinds and a couple of cord covers, but that is it,” he adds.

Don would most certainly recommend this “one stop shop” home buying for anyone. This is the third home that he has had built and by far this was his best experience. Normally buying a home is time consuming and this time around Don loved that he saved so much time. “Both gals are completely reputable, dependable and highly talented,” he said.

“This has been really fun,” said Andrea. When everything was finished Andrea’s choice for her favorite room is the large family room. Don picked the media room for his favorite room. After living in a furnished apartment for almost two years he said he really wanted a home like this and he had especially been thrilled about the media room for sporting events.
